On Thursday, September 12, 2024, the EduPASS Multiplier Event took place at the Institute of Sport Science in Münster. As an EduPASS project partner, the Willibald Gebhardt Institute hosted this event in cooperation with sport-lernen.de (Dipl.-Sportl. Axel Binnenbruck, University of Muenster) and the Department of Physical Education and Teaching Research (Prof. Nils Neuber, University of Münster) at the University of Münster). In particular, the focus was on specialists in physical activity, movement, play and sports (PAMPS), who work in kindergartens and all-day facilities, as well as coaches in children’s and youth sports.
The multiplier event was opened by Prof. Nils Neuber, WGI President Dr. Heinz Aschebrock then gave a brief presentation on the key points and objectives of the EduPASS project. In three presentations, the approximately 20 participants then dealt in detail with the various EduPASS results and their significance and relevance for specific professional practice or training and continuing education programs. As part of EduPASS, a comprehensive competency-based profile (knowledge, skills, attitudes, values) was first developed for Early Childhood Educators and Youth Sport Coaches. This profile served as the basis for the development of a modular qualification program specifically tailored
to the needs of these target groups. Prof. Roland Naul presented the details of the scientifically based development process and intellectual outputs.
A key aspect of the EduPASS project was the development of an innovative online teaching platform based on the competence profile and the modular qualification program, which offers access to high-quality further training through the development of core modules. This was presented by Dr. Sebastian Brückner. In addition, an evaluation tool was developed that serves to ensure the quality of PAMPS offers and programs for children. This tool helps to measure and continuously improve the effectiveness of PAMPS programs. Katharina Gröne and Cornelius Reh presented this in detail.
The event offered participants, including researchers on children’s and youth sport as well as representatives of various gymnastics foundations, daycare and sports associations and the German Sports Youth Association, the opportunity not only to learn about these results, but also to actively engage in an open dialog and discussion. The presentations were followed by a lively discussion and exchange of ideas, how concrete approaches for implementing the EduPASS impulses might look like. The participants showed great interest in further exchanges and reflections on the implementation of the EduPASS results.
The EduPASS project partners, specifically, the WGI team, would like to thank all participants for their commitment and valuable contributions.Your feedback will help us to further optimize the developed results and adapt them even better to the national needs of professionals.
