The LTT Youth Sports Training Event in Luxembourg will be an exciting learning opportunity for sport educators in kindergartens and after-school programmes to engage with the latest knowledge and practice in the education of young people. Content includes:
- The role of the sport educator.
- Development and evolution of a child-centred physical education philosophy.
- Theoretical sessions:
- Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model
- Inclusive teaching in physical education
- Importance of daily physical activity for health promotion
- Introduction to the area of Motor Basic Skills (MOBAC)
- Introduction to the concept of “I educate children”.
- Practical sessions:
- Fundamental play
- Fundamental movement skills
- Assessment of motor skills
- MOBAC assessment
- The educator’s toolkit: Your personal educational skills – explaining, demonstrating, setting up the activity, stepping back and observing, questioning and listening, feedback, reflection.
- Extensive opportunities for personal reflection on learning
- Deepening and reflecting on the courses
Learners will engage in a blended learning approach of presentations, group work, practical coaching, self-directed learning and reflection to develop their knowledge and skills in the field of education.
